It is rare to see earrings made from such large colored gems. Why? Because matched pairs of gem quality colored stones are exceedingly hard to come by. Usually, gem quality stones of the calibre used in these earrings are only found as single stones and can therefore be used only for rings and pendants. These earrings feature gem-quality rubellite tourmalines and sparkling diamonds set in handmade, hand-engraved 18k yellow gold bezels. The tourmalines display a striking pinkish red color and are extremely well-matched. They have extraordinarily high clarity, especially for such large, intensely colored stones.
