This unusual pendant features an antique, mother-of-pearl gambling counter in the shape of a fish. Originally carved in China for export to Britain, gaming counters or "chips" were used the way we would use poker chips. Each was engraved by hand with exquisite detail; different sizes and shapes were made to represent different denominations.
Handcrafted by our jewelers in Los Angeles, this is a wonderful conversation piece that displays beautiful craftsmanship, rich history, and a lasting appreciation of art! Please refer to the history of the gaming counter shown alongside our additional photographs.
This pendant measures 5/8" at its widest point and 2-1/2" in length including the bail. 18-inch, 14k yellow gold chain included.
